Happy Fourth of July!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been 4 months in the works, but a lot of great new features have been added to our little project. \u00a0And firstly&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2><em><strong>THANK YOU<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n<p>&#8230;to everyone who sent in feature ideas, pointed out bugs, and tried it out. \u00a0Glyphr Studio is still young, but it&#8217;s getting better with your help. \u00a0In the next few weeks we&#8217;ll be asking for more ideas, feedback on Beta 4, and maybe even have a poll to see what goes into Beta 5.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Head over to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.glyphrstudio.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">glyphrstudio.com<\/a> now to download Beta 4. \u00a0Use it, and let us know what you think! \u00a0Drop a line\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/glyphrstudio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@glyphrstudio<\/a> or <a href=\"mailto:mail@glyphrstudio.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mail@glyphrstudio.com<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>So what&#8217;s new?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Import SVG Outlines<\/strong> \u2013 Now you can use any number of graphic design software to design outlines, like Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape, and import them into Glyphr Studio.\u00a0 If your design environment doesn\u2019t exactly match your font\u2019s metrics, there are easy scaling options that can be adjusted to make sure each character lands in Glyphr Studio with ease.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Full Unicode Support<\/strong> \u2013 where Beta 3 only supported the Basic Latin sect of characters, Beta 4 supports the entirety of the Unicode Basic Multilingual Plane (that\u2019s over 65,000 characters).\u00a0 Easily add Latin Supplement ranges with a checkbox, or add custom ranges for whatever you need.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dual Monitor Mode <\/strong>&#8211; Keep the classic compact mode if you\u2019re designing on one screen, or tear out the Edit Canvas to a separate window to take full advantage of your nice big external monitor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Other New (smaller) Features:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>There are now <strong>Keyboard Shortcuts<\/strong> for most of the things you\u2019d expect \u2013 and a keyboard tips dialog box to help you learn them.<\/li>\n<li>Along with the keyboard shortcuts came <strong>Nudging<\/strong>, using the arrow keys you can move a shape or point by just a smidge.<\/li>\n<li>You can now look through the undo-able actions in the <strong>History Panel<\/strong> to see just how many times you need to ctrl+z.<\/li>\n<li>When re-sizing a shape you can now <strong>lock the aspect ratio<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Working with Linked Shapes is easier, now with actions that let you <strong>turn a shape into a linked shape<\/strong>, and the reverse, <strong>turn a linked shape into a shape<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>You can now <strong>bulk transform all the shapes in a character<\/strong>, so moving or resizing all character shapes as a single unit is a snap.<\/li>\n<li>Even with a ton of changes under-the-covers, <strong>Beta 3 projects can be migrated to Beta 4<\/strong>, just by loading the project normally.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Plus lots more<\/strong> &#8211; I just can\u2019t help tweaking the UI to make it a little prettier, or refactoring code to make it faster and more stable.\u00a0 I\u2019m a hit at parties.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been 4 months in the works, but a lot of great new features have been added to our little project.
