{"id":103,"date":"2015-10-01T12:23:00","date_gmt":"2015-10-01T20:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.glyphrstudio.com\/blog\/?p=103"},"modified":"2024-01-26T21:36:39","modified_gmt":"2024-01-26T21:36:39","slug":"version-1-03-rotate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.glyphrstudio.com\/blog\/2015\/10\/01\/version-1-03-rotate\/","title":{"rendered":"Version 1.03: Rotate"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, I know we were going on and on about Boolean Combine&#8230; I was having a nice discussion with a Glyphr Studio user over at GitHub about Rotation, and I got to a point where I realized I could actually do the rotate feature&nbsp;in less time than it was taking to talk about it. &nbsp;So here it is!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.glyphrstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/rotate.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"248\" height=\"328\" src=\"https:\/\/www.glyphrstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/rotate.png\" alt=\"rotate\" class=\"wp-image-104\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.glyphrstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/rotate.png 248w, https:\/\/www.glyphrstudio.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/rotate-227x300.png 227w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 248px) 100vw, 248px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It also works for Component Instances&#8230; but due to how adjustments are applied to Root Components, there could be some wonky results. &nbsp;It boils down to this: there is an extra property on Component Instances called &#8220;Rotate First&#8221;. &nbsp;If you want to rotate, flip, and adjust the size of a Component Instance, try to do the rotate as the very first action, or the very last action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are curious, it has to do with rotating shapes about their center point. If you do a Resize-Rotate action, it will create a different shape than a Rotate-Resize action.
